3.2 kW, 0.22 nm narrow-linewidth MOPA configuration fiber laser with a homemade polarization-maintaining Yb-doped fiber

In this work, a narrow-linewidth linearly polarized fiber amplifier with record output power of 3.2 kW was achieved based on homemade polarization-maintaining Yb-doped corresponding to slope efficiency 79% and 3 dB linewidth 0.2227 nm. By examining various numerical aperture (NA) PMYDFs, the experimental investigation expanding mode instability (MI) threshold in PM amplifiers put display. And results reveal that MI is enhanced by more than 370 W for every 0.004 decrease core aperture. Increasing seed from 0.0454 nm 0.0976 adding 200 m polarization maintaining Ge-doped stimulated Brillouin scattering increased 805 above kW. applying suppression method, double-eight-shaped aluminum plate adopted coil gain fiber, 1100 W.

We report on the generation of self-similar pulses from an self-starting saturable absorber mirror (SAM) based environmentally stable fiber laser comprising only polarization maintaining (PM) fibers.
